Why This Role Matters

As a Founding or Staff Full-Stack Engineer, you would help build the core Liso platform from the ground up, including the systems that connect artist data, relationship intelligence, and opportunity matching. This is a hands-on engineering role with outsized ownership over architecture and technical direction.

Responsibilities

Design and build core platform features across front-end and back-end.
Make foundational architecture decisions that will scale with the company.
Establish engineering practices such as code review, testing, and deployment appropriate for a small team.
Partner closely with Product and Design to ship quickly without compromising quality or security.
Mentor future engineering hires as the team grows.

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience.
Demonstrated experience owning systems end-to-end, from design through deployment and operations.
Strong fundamentals in web application architecture, databases, and API design.
Experience working directly with product and design stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as an early engineer, roughly the first five to ten hires, at a startup.
Experience with data-intensive or matching and recommendation systems.
Familiarity with modern JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks and cloud infrastructure.

Required Skills

Full-stack web development, API design, database design, production operations.

Preferred Skills

TypeScript or React, Node or Python back-end, cloud infrastructure, continuous integration and deployment.

Required Experience

5+ years professional software engineering.

Preferred Experience

Early-stage startup engineering experience, or experience building marketplace or matching systems.

What Success Could Look Like

First 90 days: shipped core platform infrastructure and established engineering practices the team can scale with.
First 180 days: demonstrated ownership of at least one major system end-to-end in production.

Education

No specific degree is required. We weight demonstrated experience, judgment, and outcomes over credentials.

Work Authorization

Must be authorized to work in the United States. Liso does not currently sponsor employment visas.

Travel

Minimal. Occasional travel for team offsites, industry events, or partner meetings may be requested.
